History

The City of South Pittsburg has been supplying water to the residents of South Pittsburg since 1887. In 1958 Marion Natural Gas System was created to serve Marion County with natural gas. In 1994 Marion Natural Gas System expanded its services to provide propane service to Marion County.

In 1991 a new office building was opened at 138 Cedar Avenue. The warehouse is located at 130 Highway 156. There is also a water treatment plant located at 121 North Ash Avenue and the wastewater treatment plant is located at 725 Willow Avenue.
